| Well, I'm finally moved into my new apt. I've spent the past 2 - 3 weeks memorizing Marine customs, traditions, and chain of command. My uniforms are basically prepared and ready, minus a little more ironing that I need to do. For anyone that doesn't know yet I will be performing with the band at the White House this Monday at the annual Easter Egg Roll. It's not a formal concert or anything, but I'm looking forward to finally playing my instrument with the band. | | |
| OK, so last night John McGinnis, myself and a few other SMU alumni went out to dinner. Mind you this meant saving for a long time because the plates were about $45 plus tip and drinks. The place is Fogo de Chao. It is Brazilian BBQ. If you have never been to it, you need to save up get a group of people together and find the nearest one. We went light on the salad bar, and that was only to get a little bit of fiber in our systems so we could digest the main course. They gave us these little green and red cards on our table. Green = more meat, Red = leave me alone so I can eat the meat that I already have. They probably have about 20 different kinds of meat on the menu, and we saw maybe 6-10 different meats. (it was so overwealming I can't even remember). All I remember is that we were having a good time conversing at the table and the second the meat came on the huge scewers all conversation went to moaning noises and talking about how good the meat was. John and I figured that we each ate at least 2 pounds of meat each, and one guy might have pushed it close to 3 pounds. I can't remember a time when I have been so satisfied with food. ........well there is fake fajita day and sausage and ravioli (whatever it was) Thursday at Camp. | | |
| here's my Xanga announcment of my new job. I won the "Presidents Own" United States Marine Band trumpet audition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will hopefuuly be moving to DC as soon as early march to begin playing with the band. I want to thank everyone for prayers, support, encouragemnt, and any other words that I can't think of right now. God orchestrated an amazing event that day. I have defidently practiced and prepared harder for other auditions in the past more so than I did for this. But somewhere along the way of preparing for this specific audition, I suddenly found myself rising to new levels of trumpet playing and musicianship. I don't believe that I practiced harder than anyone else, it was just that God helped me use everything I've learned over my entire musical carreer to put it all together for this audition. Anywase, it was amazing and I still can't believe it. Praise God!!!! | | |
| Wow I watched Sadaam hang today. I kinda feel wierd because I watched it right before church, but oh well. I'm happy the guy is gone, but as usual I'm still nervous about his supporters. | | |
| Alright COTW music staff, I need some help. I don't know if I can survive a summer at camp without my roomy Micheal Boateng. If you haven't spoken to him in a while then his status is that he's not to sure he's coming back this summer. I need everyone to call or e-mail him and convince him that camp is where he needs to spend this next summer If you don't want to do it for Mike....then please, do it for the children. | | |
